Convention Select-a-Session

Here's an opportunity for YOU to participate firsthand in the speaker selection process of the AGA Convention. This year the  Convention committee is organizing a series of Saturday afternoon 'Select-a-sessions' for the convention where potentially three 20 minutes/1/2 hour information sessions will be run concurrently. Attendees will have the opportunity to chose to attend that which would interest them most. Our goal is to provide topics that will be of interest to all sectors of the goat industry. Something for everyone!

What would you like to see presented? Would a session on how to do your own fecal sample analysis be something that would interest you? possibly a session on dying angora fibre? a cheese making demo? an Angora fibre fashion show? or a Dairy breeds analysis on milk quality? Let us know and we will do our best to make it happen.

Submit ideas on the AGA Facebook page or directly to the Convention Chair Merna Gisler gislergoats@cciwireless.ca. The best three suggestions that are chosen for the convention will win a prize! Submit your ideas now!

2014 AGA Photo Contest!

George Clooney and a goat, what more can one ask for except more pictures of goats? Announcing the 2014 AGA Photo contest !!!!

One of the mandates of the AGA is promotion of the goat industry to the Alberta agriculture industry as a whole, the general public and non-member producers out there. One way of reaching these targets is with promotional material.  The Promotions committee is looking for good quality, high resolution goat industry pictures for use in AGA promotional material so we are running a photography contest.

This is an opportunity to share your photographic skills, show off your creative side and promote your industry all at the same time.  Open to all AGA members there are four categories: Dairy Goats, Fibre Goats, Meat Goats and working with goats.

Prizes will be awarded in each category for the best and most creative entries. All entries will potentially be used in future AGA PR material including brochures, the Facebook page and on the website so this is a wonderful chance to support your industry and have some fun at the same time. Entries should be sent to the AGA office 48 Campbell Road, Leduc, AB  T9E 8C8  or emailed to abgoatbreeders@gmail.com

Enter often , be creative and have fun with it. While it's doubtful that George Clooney will actually show up, it's a great excuse to hang out with your goats for awhile.
