Meet Dr. An Peischel

The 2016 AGA Convention & Production Sale committee is pleased and honoured to announce that Dr. An Peischel Assistant Professor, Small Ruminant Extension Specialist, Department of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Sciences, Tennessee State University, will be a featured speaker at this year’s 2016 convention. Dr. Peischel has an extensive and impressive background in both the agriculture and the goat industry. Noteworthy areas of research include the restoration/ reclamation of decimated lands utilizing goats, multi- specie grazing/browsing, and invasive weed abatement. An is a highly respected and published educator, with many publications to her credit. Published accomplishments include refereed journal articles, abstracts, book chapters, international conference proceedings, popular press scholarly contributions, and has participated at 52 conference presentations and invited lectures. Dr. Peischel’s teachings include Basic Animal Nutrition, Advanced Livestock Nutrition, Goat Production, Rangeland Management, Livestock Management and Handling Techniques, Meat Science and Carcass Evaluation, Animal Science (Anatomy/ Physiology of Livestock), and Holistic Range and Livestock Production Management. Dr. Peischel has developed the Master Meat Goat Producer program and has traveled throughout the state of Tennessee and the United States presenting programs/seminars/lectures on small ruminant production and management.
