It’s time for the 4th Annual Alberta Goat Association Convention, Production Sale and Trade Fair!

Posted by Alberta Goat Association on Wednesday, September 9, 2015

Take a mini vacation off the farm and come out to the Olds Cow Palace in Olds, Alberta on October 2,3 & 4th, 2015. Spend a few days taking in some informative speakers, enjoy lots of great food, meet a “herd” of goat people and maybe buy something nice in the silent auction. Even better, send your two-legged kids over to the junior convention to give yourself a break and also to make them eligible to bid in the Kid For Kids sale on Sunday. Best of all, speak your mind at the Alberta Goat Association AGM. We want to hear your concerns and how you want us to represent our members in the community and in government. We cannot know what you want if you don’t speak up!

Once again, Sunday will feature the AGA production sale that’s open for entries from AGA members for any breed of goat! We are looking for your best stock with only a maximum of 40 lots so get your entries in early.  Goats must be in the sale barn between 4 pm and 8 pm on Friday, October 2, 2015. The entry deadline is 6pm Sunday, September 20, 2015 to make the catalogue. Late entries will be allowed, pending number of entries, until 6pm Sunday, September 27, 2015 but will not appear in the online catalogue. The sale kicks off with the “Your Choice Goat Draw” at 11 am followed by the Kids For Kids sale and then the regular sale.

Check out the terms of sale, details on the kids for kids sale, pen of 3 females, the Your Choice Goat Draw and more on our website at on the convention and sale page.

Want to place an entry or have some questions about the sale? Just contact Stacy Connors at or at 780-349-5476.

Can’t make it for the whole weekend but need to buy some stock?  Everyone is welcome to pop in just for the sale, AGA members and non-members alike.  We are once again offering proxy and phone bids. To place your bids or find out how it all works contact Laurie Fries at or at 780-755-2111.

Entry forms, registration forms, how to sign up for the adult and kids convention and information are also available on our website at Hate computers and still like to do things the old fashioned way? Call our office and talk to Dawn or Diana at 780-739-1091.  They’ll be happy to help!

This is a great chance to socialize and network with new and old producers alike and see what opportunities exist in this industry for you.  See you there!!
